Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Career Guidance Dublin (careerguidancedublin.ie) is operated by CourseCompass Education Limited (company number 810847), a company registered in Ireland ("CourseCompass", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what rights you have over it.
1. Who we are
CourseCompass Education Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through careerguidancedublin.ie and the rest of the CourseCompass network of county guidance sites. You can contact us about privacy at info@coursecompass.ie.
2. What we collect
This site is deliberately minimal about what it asks for. When you start a test or buy a guidance package, we collect:
- Your email address — entered in the checkout form, used to identify your order and send you access to your results.
- Your test responses — the answers you give in the psychometric assessment, used to generate your personal course/career-match report.
- Order and payment status — which product you bought, when, and whether payment succeeded. We do not collect or store your card details ourselves — see Section 4.
We do not require you to create a password-based account, and we do not ask for your name, address, school or phone number to use this site.
3. Technical data collected automatically
Like any website, some technical information is processed automatically to deliver and protect the site:
- Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, automatically processes connecting information such as your IP address and browser type to serve the site and protect it from abuse (for example, bot and denial-of-service protection). This happens for every visitor to every website on the internet that uses this kind of infrastructure, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
- This site loads two typefaces (Fraunces and Source Sans 3) directly from Google Fonts. Loading a font this way means your browser contacts Google's servers directly, and Google will receive your IP address as part of that request. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
4. Payment
When you check out, you are redirected to a secure payment page hosted by Revolut, our payment processor. Your card details are entered directly on Revolut's own page and are never seen, transmitted to, or stored by us. Revolut processes that payment data under its own privacy policy, available at revolut.com/legal/privacy.
5. Why we process your data, and our legal basis
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Deliver your results, send order confirmation, provide customer support | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Test responses | Generate your personal course/career-match report | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Order/payment status | Fulfil your order, bookkeeping, fraud prevention | Performance of a contract; legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c)) |
| Technical/security data | Keep the site running and secure | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
6. Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers ("processors") to run this site, each of whom only processes your data on our instructions:
- Supabase — our backend database and processing provider, used to store order records and generate results.
- Revolut — our payment processor, which handles card payment directly (see Section 4).
- Cloudflare — our hosting and security provider.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Some of these providers may process data on servers outside Ireland or the EEA; where that happens, they do so under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for 6 years, in line with the record-keeping period required of Irish businesses under Section 886 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997. Test responses and results are kept only for as long as needed to provide you with your report and reasonable customer support, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have inaccurate data corrected; request erasure; restrict or object to our processing; and receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email info@coursecompass.ie.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to Ireland's Data Protection Commission:

9. Children and age
This site is built for Leaving Certificate students, who are typically 16 and over. 16 is the digital age of consent to use online services under Irish data protection law. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian should provide consent and make any purchase on your behalf.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we introduce a new feature or service provider. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
